Broome County Urban League's Technology Center is getting a boost from ATTAIN

Broome County Urban League's Technology Center is getting a boost with a $1 million grant.The Advanced Technology Training and Information Networking lab, known as ATTAIN, offers computer certification, work development programs, and open lab hours. State Commissioner of Labor, Patricia Smith says the lab will help people get further skills at little or no cost.

Smith says, "There are many jobs available to people who have those certifications so through the program they become widely available to the workforce. We're going to have a better educated workforce, a more competitive workforce and we're going to be better able to attract jobs to this area."

The lab is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and closes from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch.
